Introducing K-LUXE: XERF Skin Tightening Meets LaseMD Ultra at VIV Life Lounge
Beautiful skin is about more than firmness alone.
Over time, changes in collagen, sun exposure, and the natural aging process can affect the skin in different ways. You may notice less definition along your jawline, looser skin around your neck, uneven pigmentation, or changes in your skin’s texture.
And while a single treatment may address one concern, it may not address everything you’re hoping to improve.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce K-LUXE, our new skin rejuvenation protocol at VIV Life Lounge in Millburn, New Jersey.
K-LUXE brings together two advanced technologies from Cynosure Lutronic: XERF Structural Skin Tightening and LaseMD Ultra.
The concept is simple: XERF addresses skin firmness and laxity, while Ultra focuses on tone, texture, and visible sun damage.
Together, they offer a more comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenation, thoughtfully designed around your individual skin concerns.
Why Skin Rejuvenation Requires More Than One Approach
Skin aging doesn’t happen in just one layer.
As we age, collagen and other structural components of the skin change. This can contribute to reduced elasticity, fine lines, and skin laxity.
At the same time, years of sun exposure can lead to pigmentation changes, roughness, and uneven skin tone.
These concerns are related, but they aren’t identical.
For example, someone may have relatively smooth skin but notice sagging along the lower face. Another person may have good facial definition but struggle with sunspots and uneven texture.
And many individuals experience both.
K-LUXE was developed around this distinction, combining two technologies that address different aspects of skin appearance.
What Is K-LUXE?
K-LUXE is VIV Life Lounge’s customized skin rejuvenation protocol combining XERF and LaseMD Ultra.
Rather than relying on one technology to address every concern, K-LUXE brings together two complementary treatments.
XERF Structural Skin Tightening uses monopolar radiofrequency energy to improve the appearance of skin firmness and laxity.
LaseMD Ultra uses non-ablative fractional laser technology to address concerns such as sun damage, uneven pigmentation, and skin texture.
The goal is to address both the structural and more superficial changes that contribute to the appearance of aging skin.
This combination is particularly relevant for patients who want a more comprehensive treatment plan without pursuing surgery.
XERF: Addressing Skin Firmness and Laxity
XERF is the foundation of our K-LUXE protocol.
This advanced skin tightening technology uses multifrequency monopolar radiofrequency energy to deliver controlled heat into targeted layers of tissue.
Unlike traditional approaches that rely on a single radiofrequency setting, XERF uses two frequencies, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz, with adjustable treatment depths.
The technology is designed to produce controlled thermal effects that support collagen remodeling and improve the appearance of skin firmness.
At VIV Life Lounge, XERF is commonly used to address concerns involving the face, jawline, and neck.
Patients may consider XERF when they begin noticing changes such as reduced jawline definition, skin laxity around the lower face, or less firmness beneath the chin.
XERF does not require needles or surgical incisions. Its integrated cooling technology is also designed to improve comfort during treatment.
Some patients may notice an early tightening effect, while collagen remodeling and changes in skin appearance can continue developing over the following weeks and months.
According to Cynosure Lutronic’s official XERF information, the technology combines multifrequency radiofrequency delivery with adjustable treatment depths and integrated cooling.

LaseMD Ultra: Addressing Tone, Texture, and Sun Damage
While XERF focuses on skin firmness, LaseMD Ultra addresses another important aspect of rejuvenation: the appearance of the skin’s surface.
LaseMD Ultra is a 1927-nanometer non-ablative fractional thulium laser.
The laser delivers controlled energy into microscopic treatment zones, promoting skin renewal without removing the entire outer layer of skin.
Ultra is used to address concerns such as:
- Sunspots and age spots
- Uneven pigmentation
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Fine lines
- Visible signs of sun damage
By addressing these concerns, Ultra can help improve the appearance of skin tone and texture.
The technology can be used across different skin types, although treatment settings, pigmentation history, and individual risk factors must be evaluated before treatment.
Cynosure Lutronic identifies improvement in sun damage, benign pigmented lesions, tone, and texture among Ultra’s applications. You can learn more through the manufacturer’s official LaseMD Ultra information.
A published review of 1927 nm thulium laser treatments also discusses their applications in pigmentation concerns and skin rejuvenation, while noting the need for stronger clinical studies in some areas.
Why Combine XERF and LaseMD Ultra?
Imagine improving the firmness of your lower face while leaving unwanted pigmentation and uneven texture unaddressed.
Or improving the appearance of sunspots while still feeling concerned about skin laxity around your jawline.
This is where combining complementary technologies becomes valuable.
XERF focuses on firmness. Ultra focuses on tone and texture.
Rather than expecting one treatment to do everything, K-LUXE allows us to create a plan that addresses multiple concerns.
There is a scientific rationale for combining radiofrequency-based rejuvenation with fractional laser treatment because the technologies act through different mechanisms.
However, an important distinction is that research involving other radiofrequency and laser combinations does not automatically establish superior results for XERF and Ultra specifically.
K-LUXE is our treatment protocol, not a separately FDA-approved device or a combination with guaranteed outcomes.
The value lies in thoughtful treatment selection, appropriate sequencing, and addressing the concerns that matter most to each patient.
Can XERF and Ultra Be Performed During the Same Appointment?
For appropriately selected patients, XERF and LaseMD Ultra may be performed during the same visit, with Ultra following XERF.
This is one of the options available within our K-LUXE approach.
However, same-day treatment isn’t automatically appropriate for everyone.
The decision depends on skin condition, treatment intensity, medical history, and how the skin responds during treatment.
Our medical team evaluates these factors before determining the appropriate sequence and schedule.
Combining treatments requires more than simply performing two procedures back-to-back. It requires a plan that considers both the desired outcome and the skin’s ability to tolerate treatment.
What Can You Expect from K-LUXE?
The goal of K-LUXE is to improve multiple aspects of skin appearance through a personalized treatment plan.
Depending on your concerns and response to treatment, improvements may include better-looking skin firmness, a more refined appearance along the lower face, more even-looking skin tone, and smoother texture.
These changes do not necessarily develop at the same pace.
Radiofrequency-related collagen remodeling may continue over several weeks or months. With fractional laser treatments, improvements in pigmentation and texture may develop as the skin renews following treatment.
Temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, dryness, or changes in pigmentation can occur, particularly following laser treatment.
Your provider will discuss expected recovery, potential risks, and aftercare based on your skin and treatment settings.
K-LUXE is designed to support natural-looking rejuvenation, but results vary, and no treatment can stop the aging process.
Who May Be a Good Candidate for K-LUXE?
K-LUXE may be worth exploring if you’re experiencing a combination of concerns rather than one isolated issue.
For example, you may be noticing:
- Reduced firmness around the face or neck
- Less definition along the jawline
- Sunspots or uneven pigmentation
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Fine lines and other visible signs of aging
Both men and women may be considered for treatment.
A consultation is important for everyone, regardless of age or skin tone.
Certain skin conditions, medications, medical histories, or recent aesthetic treatments may affect whether one or both technologies are appropriate.
For some patients, XERF alone may be the better choice. Others may benefit from Ultra alone or a carefully planned combination.
The goal isn’t to recommend more treatments than necessary. It’s to develop an approach that makes sense for your skin.
A More Personalized Approach to Skin Rejuvenation
At VIV Life Lounge, we believe effective aesthetic care starts with understanding the individual.
Some patients are primarily concerned with maintaining skin firmness. Others want to address pigmentation or changes in texture. And many are looking for a more comprehensive approach.
With K-LUXE, we’re bringing together two technologies that allow us to address these concerns in a coordinated treatment plan.
XERF remains the foundation of our structural skin tightening approach, while LaseMD Ultra expands what we can address when skin tone and texture are also priorities.
It’s a natural extension of our philosophy: advanced rejuvenation, designed around you.
